MagicSDR — Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how the MagicSDR application ("the app", "we") collects, uses and protects information when you use it. By using the app you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Summary

• We do not collect your name, e-mail address, phone number, contacts, photos, files, microphone recordings or any other personal content.
• We do not show ads and we do not sell or rent any data to third parties.
• The app collects anonymous usage analytics and diagnostics (currently on Android only) to help us improve stability and features.
• All analytics data is linked to a random installation identifier, not to your identity, hardware identifiers or advertising ID.

3. Data we collect

To understand how the app is used and to improve it, the app collects the following categories of data through an analytics service:

• App interaction events — for example: app launch and exit, screens and dialogs opened, buttons and menu items used, receiver start/stop. These events describe how the app's interface is used; they do not contain personal content.
• App and diagnostics information — app version, number of launches, crash and stability indicators, error messages generated by the app.
• Device information — device model, operating system name and version, screen resolution and pixel density, number of CPU cores, app installation source (e.g. Google Play).
• Purchase status — whether the premium upgrade has been purchased and anonymous events related to the purchase flow (e.g. purchase succeeded or failed). We never receive your payment details (see section 6).
• Approximate location (country/city level) — derived by the analytics provider from the IP address of the network request. The IP address is used only to determine the approximate region and is not made available to us as such. No precise location (GPS) data is ever collected.
• Random installation identifier — a randomly generated string created on first launch, used to count installations and distinguish sessions. It is not derived from your device's hardware, phone number, accounts or advertising ID, and it is reset if you uninstall the app or clear its data.

Analytics collection is currently enabled on Android only. The iOS version of the app does not send analytics events. Analytics is also disabled for users in the European region.

4. How we use this data

Collected data is used solely to:

• measure app stability and diagnose crashes and errors;
• understand which features are used and how, in order to improve the app;
• make product decisions (e.g. which devices and screen sizes to support).

We do not use this data for advertising, profiling, or tracking you across other apps or websites, and we do not sell or share it for such purposes.

5. Analytics service provider

Analytics data is processed on our behalf by Amplitude, Inc. (USA), acting as our data processor. Data is transmitted over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) and stored on Amplitude's servers. Amplitude's privacy policy is available at https://amplitude.com/privacy.

The app may also occasionally request configuration settings from our own servers (magicsdr.com). Such requests are anonymous and do not contain personal information.

6. Purchases

In-app purchases are processed entirely by Google Play or the Apple App Store. We never receive or store your payment card details, billing address or other payment information. Please refer to the privacy policies of Google and Apple for details on how they handle payment data.

7. Data retention and deletion

Analytics data is retained only as long as necessary for the purposes described above. Because the data is linked only to a random installation identifier, it cannot be traced back to you by us. Uninstalling the app or clearing its data removes the identifier from your device, so no further data will be associated with your installation.

You may request deletion of the analytics data associated with your installation by contacting us at the e-mail address above; we will assist you in identifying and deleting the relevant records.

8. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of data related to your app installation, and to object to its processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at the e-mail address listed in section 1.

9. Children's privacy

The app is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. Security

All data transmitted by the app is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). We take reasonable measures to protect the collected data; however, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be published at this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
